Roger Dyson Ltd is hiring a full-time Sawmill Operative at our Droitwich site. We have been manufacturing vehicle recovery systems for over 50 years and are known for the quality of our products. This is a hands-on production role for someone who enjoys practical work and takes pride in getting it right.

The role

We are looking for a hardworking, safety-conscious Sawmill Operative to join our production team. You will operate sawmill machinery, process steel and aluminium to specification, and help keep our working area clean and efficient. This role suits someone who enjoys practical, physical work and takes pride in doing a job well. Full training on our machinery is available, so if you are willing to learn, we would like to hear from you.

What you will be doing

• Operating sawmill machinery, including the saw, guillotine and press brake
• Measuring and cutting steel to the required specifications
• Sorting and stacking steel and aluminium to company standards
• Assisting with loading and unloading steel and aluminium deliveries
• Carrying out general yard duties as required
• Following all health and safety procedures, including PPE requirements
• Keeping your work area clean and organised
• Working with the team to meet daily production targets

What we are looking for

• Able to operate sawmill machinery, or willing to learn
• Good understanding of health and safety practices
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
• Strong attention to detail and quality
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Desirable: a valid side loader and forklift licence
