Tow Show a success for Roger Dyson
The relaxed atmosphere on the Roger Dyson stand judged the mood of the show superbly. With visitors to the show looking to network and take something positive away from the three days, a visit to the upbeat Roger Dyson Group for a latte and a Danish pastry was just what was required.
The main focus of the stand, as well as on the two flagship recovery units displayed, was on the launch on the morning of the Tow Show of the new Roger Dyson Group website – www.rogerdyson.com . Visitors were able to explore the full functionality of the site, view all the Dyson Group vehicles for sale in the virtual showroom and see what really is the one-stop shop for any recovery operator. Tony Rayner, the Group’s European Sales Manager, commented ‘I am delighted with the reaction we have had over the course of the show to the new website. It has been many months in development as we really wanted to raise the bar. The website will be updated on a daily basis with new vehicles and equipment for sale plus offers on parts and accessories, and news stories and comment from the Group. We can automatically update customers when new or second hand vehicles are added to stock and of course help operators to build their own bespoke unit onto a chassis of their choice’.
Roger was also delighted to report strong sales at the show. The new 8000SLa full accident unit on new Renault Premium day cab was sold to Roy’s Autos who also purchased another Renault Crew Cab, this time with a 4500La from the virtual showroom. The accident unit, the first of its kind from Roger Dyson, is fitted with a PM22023 lorry crane with full remote control, hydraulic powered stabilisers and a Dyson foldable Hydraclamp damage free lifting equipment, making it the best accident recovery unit in the UK today. An order was received from Eclipse Recovery for a new 3 axle DAF which will be fitted with an Amco Veba 37 tm lorry loader crane and another 8000SLa Super Low approach slidebed system.
Finally the show was rounded off in style when Roger was presented with the award for ‘Best Heavy Truck’ for the DAF 85 CF, 4 Axle chassis with the new NRC 50/65 SR Sliding Rotator. The NRC Sliding Rotator System is the only system manufactured throughout the world recovery market which gives you the unique facility to be able to slide and rotate the crane load at full capacity.
Roger Dyson summarised the show by saying ‘We were pleased with the first two days of the show. It has enabled us to spend a lot of time with quality visitors talking through what we have been doing over the last six month to ensure we remain the No.1 recovery vehicle manufacturer in Europe. The reaction to our new website has been fantastic and I would like to hear comments from operators on what we can do as part of our continual improvement process to make it even better over time. As you know we love to sell vehicles and I was delighted to receive orders, amongst others, for two new 8000SLa slidebed accident units as these are the new benchmark product for serious recovery operators in the UK today.’
