Roy's Autos choose benchmark slidebeds
The Barnsley based recovery operator, Roy’s Autos, has recently taken delivery of two top the range slidebeds from the Roger Dyson Group.
The first is a Hydraloader 8000 SLa (Super Low Approach) slidebed accident unit on a new Renault Premium 3 Axle day cab chassis and the second on another new Renault chassis, this time a Midlum crew cab with a Hydraloader 4500 La (Low Approach) system.
The 8000 SLa accident unit has been equipped with a PM 23023 lorry loader crane, hydraulic winch, second vehicle lift, and rear towing equipment. The vehicle and equipment was painted in the state of the art Dyson paint shop with corporate graphics being applied after delivery. This 8000 Sla is ideally suited for the recovery of long low municipal vehicles, industrial plant and construction equipment, where there is a definite need to reduce the loading angle due to the higher/larger chassis ride height. The 8000 SLa system is available with platform lengths in excess of 8 meters with the bed having a loading angle as low as 4.9°, the lowest available in the UK today. This purchase has already enabled Roy’s Auto’s to secure a long term contract with the local Public Authorities.
The second of Roy’s Autos purchases, the Dyson Hydraloader 4500 La slidebed, is equipped with a 4500 kgs design slidebed including platform flyer, hydraulic winch, radio remote control, second vehicle lift and rear towing equipment. The well proven but simple design is mounted to the chassis via a sub frame which has dual tilt cylinders to allow the best and most stable platform during the loading. The platform is slid to the rear by a single hydraulic cylinder to create a loading platform from 10 to 12 depending on your chassis choice, but is improved by the low approach last section of the platform, which allows the casualty to approach the platform which is now at 6. The La remains the workhorse of the recovery industry and best selling slidebed in the Roger Dyson slidebed range.
The two vehicles have been in service now for a couple of months and Managing Director Roy Needham is delighted with the performance of his latest purchases, “Roger Dyson stands for quality, you know you are buying the finest products available, and that our operators have confidence in the knowledge that they are using the best recovery systems available when doing their job. I have been buying Dyson equipment now for over 20 years and the name still stands for the benchmark product in our industry.”
Roy’s Autos are based in Mapplewell, Barnsley and offer a 24hr recovery service for cars, motorbikes, and light and heavy commercial vehicles.
