Roger Dyson plays its part for Statewide Towing
Exceptional build quality, simplicity of operation and a first-class parts service led Irish specialist Statewide Towing back to Roger Dyson Group for its latest recovery truck.
The new vehicle is equipped with a 3,000kg capacity Dyson Hydraloader 3000 La (Low approach) slidebed and second vehicle lift, which are fitted to a 7.5-tonne Isuzu N75 chassis.
It has lined up alongside Statewide Towing’s two other Dyson-supplied units: a Hydraloader 6000 slidebed with additional top-loading platform, which is mounted on a 12-tonne Iveco chassis, and a Landoll travelling axle trailer for heavy vehicle recoveries.
Statewide Towing was founded in 1997 by Managing Director Mark Hoare but can trace its roots back to 1931, when his grandfather founded Hoare’s Garage in the seaside town of Rush, some 14 miles north of Dublin city centre.
Since 2001 Mark has run the business in partnership with wife Nikki, who previously worked for the RAC and whose main focus was to grow the recovery side of the operation, which is based in nearby Balbriggan.
Statewide Towing provides a full spectrum of breakdown and recovery services for vehicles of all sizes. The sole recovery provider to the Dublin Port Tunnel since its opening in 2006, it also works for the police – the Hydraloader 6000 purchased from Roger Dyson late last year is assigned to a Garda (police) contract. Other customers include major motoring organisations, insurance, agricultural and plant companies, truck operators and dealers.
“Roger Dyson’s bodies are very well made and will easily outlast the chassis,” confirms Mr Hoare. “They’re also uncomplicated and easy to use – I like the fact that there’s nothing flashy about the Dyson equipment.
“Even our Landoll trailer, which we bought four years ago, is simple, fast and user-friendly. Like all Dyson’s products, it ‘does exactly what it says on the tin’”.
The operator also has nothing but praise for the quality of Roger Dyson’s paintwork – “second to none and very durable” – and for the service provided by its Parts Manager Alex Mills.
“His stock control is excellent,” says Mark. “We have only to call Alex and quote the series number on the body – he knows exactly what we need and despite the fact that we’re on the other side of the Irish Sea, we invariably get it the next day.”
