Robert Brownlie capitalises on Roger Dyson Hydraloader
A new contract ‘win’ from a local authority led Edinburgh-based Robert Brownlie Motor Engineers back to Roger Dyson Group for another new recovery truck.
The arrival of its latest Hydraloader 5000SLa brings the number of Dyson vehicles on Robert Brownlie’s fleet to seven.
“We’ve tried the rest but in my opinion nobody in Britain offers a better-built vehicle or a higher level of service than Roger Dyson,” declares Managing Director Robert Brownlie.
“The quality of its products and its back-up in terms of warranty cover, spares supply and technical support, is first class. You could easily imagine you were dealing with a mainstream truck manufacturer rather than a specialist bodybuilder.”
Brownlie’s new Hydraloader is mounted on a 12-tonne Renault Midlum chassis with crew cab, which accommodates six passengers as well as the driver. Dyson’s SLa (Super Low approach) deck offers a loading angle of just 4.9 degrees and has a design capacity of 5,000kg.
“We’ve added this new vehicle to our fleet after winning a new contract from a local authority,” adds Mr Brownlie. “Despite the fact that industry in general is in decline, I’m pleased to say that we’ve been able to maintain steady growth.”
He continues: “The truck’s specification makes it extremely versatile – the low approach angle means that cars with very low ground clearance, or caravans and trailers with centre axles and long overhangs, can be loaded safely without risk of damage to any bodywork. And the 5,000kg capacity means it will also carry light commercial vehicles with ease.”
As well as local authority customers, Robert Brownlie works for breakdown organisations, insurance companies, the police and motor manufacturers covering Edinburgh and the Lothians.Back to News & Events
