Roadside returns for first new Roger Dyson
Roadside Vehicle Services had complete confidence when it placed its first order for a brand new, Roger Dyson-built recovery unit – because the Paisley-based operator has been running used Dysons for years.
“So we know from long experience how well made they are, and how good the after sales service is,” confirms Partner David McVey. “In the rare event that something goes wrong Dyson’s parts delivery is always quick, efficient and professional – there’s never any argument.”
Latest addition to the Roadside Vehicle Services fleet is a Dyson Hydraloader 8000La (Low approach) slidebed. It is mounted on a 26-tonne Mercedes-Benz Axor 2528 chassis bought as a curtainsider by Roadside Vehicle Services and converted in the Roger Dyson factory in Droitwich, Worcestershire.
“Roger’s the man as far as recovery units are concerned!” continues Mr McVey. “You can buy cheaper but Dyson equipment is the best – it’s as simple as that. It’s highly cost-effective to operate because it’s so reliable and well-built, so if we decide to sell this new one after a few years we know it’s still going to command a decent price.”
The latest Hydraloader has an 8,000kg capacity platform which is remote radio-controlled and can be used with ease by a single Roadside operative to recover anything up to a fully-laden 7.5-tonne truck.
The loading angle can be reduced further thanks to the air suspended chassis, which also has a steering rear axle for increased manoeuvrability.
The Roadside Vehicle Services fleet currently includes one other Dyson Hydraloader, which is mounted on a 10-tonne chassis. The company specialises in vehicle repairs and rentals, providing a range of garage services to car and commercial vehicle customers – including 24-hour breakdown recovery, servicing and fleet maintenance.Back to News & Events
