Manchetts’ new Dyson SLa offers a damage-free supercar solution
Owners of prestige, ground-hugging supercars can rest assured that their prized possessions will be carried in safety by Manchetts Rescue & Recovery, using their new Roger Dyson slidebed.
Mounted on a 7.5-tonne Renault Midlum chassis, the Dyson Hydraloader 3000SLa offers a class-leading loading angle of just 4.9 degrees.
Manchetts is based in Burwell, Cambridgeshire, and provides a collection and delivery service to owners of Aston Martin, Porsche, Nissan GT-R and other brands of supercar requiring routine servicing and repair, and breakdown recovery or transportation.
As well as franchised dealers the company works for private customers, among them the owner of two classic Lamborghinis who sends his cars to be serviced at a specialist dealer in London.
The Dyson’s SLa Super Low approach bed makes it ideally suited to such prestige vehicle movements, although the new vehicle is also pressed into service for general breakdown work during particularly busy periods.
Director Sean Manchett says: “The Hydraloader SLa is perfect for the role of transporting low-slung sports cars – at its full extension the bed drops so low to the ground that there’s no danger of damaging their bodywork when loading.
“We’ve also had this one built in aluminium – a first for us – which saves a significant amount of weight and therefore boosts the vehicle’s payload potential. It’s very easy to use too, with single-lever operation.
“As always with Dyson equipment,” he continues, “it’s also extremely well built. This is our third SLa – we bought a couple in 2008 – and they’ve provided excellent service.
“Roger supplies us with excellent products at very fair prices. He and his team are always a pleasure to do business with and I know I can rely on the high standard of their workmanship.”
Family-owned Manchetts celebrates its 50th anniversary this year and provides a wide range of services to local motorists and commercial vehicle operators. As well as vehicle recovery, it undertakes maintenance and MoT inspections for cars, trucks and vans. The company also has a used car sales outlet at its Priory Garage site in Isleham, an accident repair centre in Newmarket, and a fuel filling station and mini-supermarket at Burwell.Back to News & Events
