La (Low Approach) Aluminium
The Hydraloader La, which designates Low Approach loading angle, is the most successful slidebed range manufactured by us here at Droitwich. The addition of the new aluminium platform to the range serves to strengthen the appeal of this product as the industry standard still further. The unique construction of the aluminium platform retains maximum strength whilst increasing the vehicle payload that a chassis can carry. This has been achieved with the use of closed side raves and a closed floor construction with t-bolt fixing points built in. Therefore there is no need when adding ancillary equipment, such as lashing rings, side winching posts or wheel stops for example, for any additional drilling or welding. This keeps the inherent strength of the slidebed and has enabled the Dyson engineers to keep weight to an absolute minimum.
The new aluminium construction will mean up to 400kg of additional payload capacity dependant on chassis choice.
The La platform has nowbeen in production for over 20 years with several thousand units operating throughout the UK and Europe. It’s well proven but simple design is mounted to the chassis via a sub frame which has dual tilt cylinders to allow the best and most stable platform during the loading. The platform is slid to the rear by a single hydraulic cylinder to create a loading platform from 10 to 12° depending on your chassis choice, but is improved by the low approach last section of the platform, which allows the casualty to approach the platform which is now at 6°.
As the casualty is transferred from the road to the platform it approaches the first 6° slope the approach angle to the main platform, this is a further 4 to 6°s allowing the casualty to be drawn onto the platform without causing any damage to front end spoilers, low bodywork vehicles with low profile tyres or suspension.
The control systems on the Hydraloader can be operated via one or two manual controls, there are the options to have autotilt or radio remote control override. Vehicles are normally loaded by a hydraulic winch mounted to the front of the platform which again can be manual or controlled by radio remote. This allows the operator the best freedom and enables him to be in the safest position during the loading procedure. Once the casualty is loaded the platform is deployed into the travelling position where the vehicle is secured for its onward transportation.
The system is also available with a wide range of options. There are six models of second vehicle lift which can be specified depending on the body model and chassis size. These second vehicle lifts also give you a choice of three different wheel grid options which allows you to choose the best piece of equipment for your application. The Hydraloader La is also available with second vehicle platform, again a choice is available. Where specialised equipment and exotic vehicles are carried there is an option of a covered platform, either with soft TIP curtain sides or the latest technology of sliding curtains with solid front bulk head and roller shutter rear loading door.
The Hydraloader La Aluminium can be supplied to you in a wide range of formats, designs and capacities, it can be fitted to the chassis of your choice, supplied as a complete unit including the chassis or alternatively in kit form for installation to your vehicle in your own workshops.
