Eclipse Recovery take the keys to a Volvo NRC unit from the Roger Dyson Group
Eclipse Recovery, based in Kent, has taken delivery of a Volvo FH16 580 chassis fitted with an NRC 50-65 Sliding Rotator recovery system from Roger Dyson. Roger handed over the keys to Eclipse’s Director of Commercial Recovery and Transportation Chris Hoare at the AVRO-Ex show in Leicester.
Eclipse Recovery operate all over the UK and Europe from their bases in South East Kent, as well as operating a full vehicle recovery business the Company operates a Car Transportation service covering new car deliveries, covered transporters for specialist movements and a multicar transporter fleet. A Dyson Landoll Travelling Axle Trailer is also available for moving plant, heavy machinery, mobile homes, boats, caravans and abnormal loads.
The flagship FH16 Volvo chassis has a 16.1 litre diesel engine giving an immense 580hp and 2800Nm of torque making this unit the king of the heavy transport sector. Featuring the Globetrotter Cab this heavy duty Chassis is ideally suited for the Dyson Rotator. The 5065 Sliding Rotator recovery system incorporates a Commander maxi-reach 4.2 metre underlift, hydraulic front and rear stabilisers, dual 45,000lbs recovery boom winches plus two secondary 20,000lbs winches mounted to the underside of the boom. The unit operates via digital remote control with manual override, self levelling and anti-twist equipment options are included. The whole unit was finished in the Eclipse blue and white fleet colours in Dyson’s own paint booth ensuring a finish that is second to none.
The Dyson 50/65 rating means that the equipment has been tested to the overload of 65 tonnes without overloading the equipment, then 25% is deducted to give a safe-working load rating of 50tonnes giving peace of mind to the operator and customer alike. The sliding ability of the system ensures that the boom can be worked in a more retracted position which increases the lifting capacity; it also increases the reach by up to 127” giving you a greater working area.
Chris Hoare praised the unit saying ‘It is simply the best product in the marketplace, the lifting capacity coupled with the sliding ability of the NRC unit gives definite advantages in the use of the product. The product is quality through and through and its robust nature means we will look to operate this unit for up to seven years. We’ve had a long working relationship with Dysons, this is the third heavy duty unit we have bought and Dyson Hydraloader systems form the bulk of our fleet of slidebeds, also their back-up and service is second to none’.
