Aluminium - the new platform of choice!
Highfields Garage and Stoneywood Motors quick to order the latest Aluminium slidebeds from Roger Dyson
Since the launch of the new Roger Dyson aluminium slidebed range at AVRO-Ex in September the Dyson business has been delighted with the volume of new orders coming through. As well as gaining genuine new custom loyal Dyson customers have also been keen to exploit the best in new aluminium technology.
Jon Cox of Highfields Garage near Crediton in Devon explained his reasoning for buying the new aluminium slidebed ‘I am always looking at new products and new technology and to have a top class manufacturer like Roger Dyson enter the aluminium market this really caught my attention. We already operate a fleet of Dyson slidebeds but this new aluminium platform gives two additional benefits to my business. Firstly, being aluminium, there are no corrosion issues which means less maintenance and therefore a lower cost of operation and secondly we have the increased payload which improves our flexibility of operation.’ Jon will shortly be taking delivery of two MAN TGL12.240 crew cab chassis both fitted with the new Hydraloader 5000SLa Super Low Approach Aluminium slidebed. The vehicles will be painted to the exacting standard that all Roger Dyson vehicles enjoy and will be fully liveried in the Highfield Garage fleet colours.
One of the North’s leading recovery specialists, Stoneywood Motors, have also ordered their first Aluminium Dyson slidebed, a 3000La Low Approach with second car lift on an Iveco Eurocargo day cab chassis. In addition Colin has also ordered a Renault Midlum 12.210 crew cab to be equipped with a 5000SLa slidebed with second car lift; and two Mitsubishi Fuso crew cabs equipped with Dyson Enforcer 2 spectacle lifts. The Enforcer 2 equipment will come with optional heavy duty wheel skates with heavy duty rubber based tyres to be used on the highway at normal road speeds. Discussing his order Colin Exley commented ‘With my long term business partners, John and Harry, I have been buying Dyson recovery equipment for over 25 years. We have always been delighted with the quality and ease of operation of Dyson equipment and we know the weight saving of 350kg that the new aluminium slidebed gives on this chassis will be another winner for our business. We are also impressed with the versatility of the new wheel skates that will be fitted to the two Enforcer spectacle lifts. We are seeing more hybrid cars, 4x4 and cars with electronic handbrakes and this will certainly make our operators lives easier out on the highways’.
