A1 upgrade with a new covered Super Low Approach MAN from Roger Dyson
A1 Breakdown & Recovery Ltd has enhanced its fleet with a new MAN TGL12.244 Sleeper with a covered 5000SLa.
Established in 1986 by Roger Whittall, the family run business operates throughout Merseyside, Cheshire and North Wales providing a complete service from accident management through to roadside repairs on cars and light commercial vehicles with a recovery fleet of 22 vehicles. The family attach a great deal of importance to having an up to date fleet of vehicles in order for them to provide a quality and reliable to service to their customers.
This latest purchase, bringing to seven the number of new vehicles bought from the Roger Dyson Group, shows how the trend in vehicle recovery is progressing. Commenting for A1 Operations Director Barry Whittall said “We are moving an ever increasing amount of prestige cars, and have therefore opted for a covered vehicle for the first time in order to protect the valuable cargoes we are transporting. We are also seeing the weight of vehicles increase and the 5000SLa gives us that freedom of operation which should ensure the increased utilisation of the vehicle”.
Having the ability to carry up to 5000kgs with a loading angle as low as 4.9% the SLa is the best slidebed conversion in the marketplace. The SLa offers great flexibility to recover and transport prestige cars through to light commercial vehicles, including those with long overhangs. As well as the covered option chosen by A1 vehicles the SLa can also be fitted with a second car lift and top deck. Ease of operation is ensured with a unique single lever control and hydraulic uneven load facility.
